Sheikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah, one of the initiatives of His Highness the President of the State, revealed the success of cataract surgery by 99% without any complications, as the ophthalmology department received more than 13,000 patients to receive treatment and medical consultations related to various eye diseases, in addition to the transferred cases Of hospitals and other health centers in the country and abroad, since its opening in 2015 until now, due to the hospital’s qualified medical staff and the latest technologies used in this field.
The surgical team at Sheikh Khalifa Specialist Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah, , was able to restore sight to a young citizen of 18 years old, after he was accidentally hit by a sharp object in his home, which caused a rupture of the cornea and cataracts of the right eye, and the ophthalmology department succeeded From restoring his eyesight after several successful surgical interventions.
Sheikh Khalifa Specialist Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah confirmed that its laboratories conducted more than 100 thousand laboratory examinations per month, and more than a million annually, while the total number of laboratory tests recorded a growth of about 25% compared to previous years.
The hospital explained that the huge number of examinations covers about 600 test items, depending on the automated system used in the hospital, which provides effective reports on patient results, as well as all basic tests for histology, cytology and specialized tests, to diagnose diseases.
Sheikh Khalifa Specialist Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah has succeeded in eradicating non-resectable cholangiocarcinoma of an 87-year-old liver cancer patient by means of SpyGalss Cholangioscop, where the patient suffers from obstruction of the bile duct, indicating the use of accurate RFA technique that needs expertise “In its use of successfully reopening the blocked bile duct, it has contributed to achieving better medical outcomes for the patient’s health without the need for conventional surgery, chemotherapy or radiation.
