  • Upper airway obstruction (tonsil, adenoid, nasal cavity, obstructive sleep apnea)
  • Head and Neck chronic infections (chronic tonsillitis, otitis media, sinusitis and rhinitis)
  • Hearing and Balance (hearing loss, dizziness, and vertigo)
  • Selective minor facial trauma (nasal bone and facial bones)

The Sheikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah has launched a new diagnostic test in its laboratories based on a high-complexity examination of “Fusion Transcript” intended to detect rearrangements involving the ALK, ROS-1, RET, and NTRK-1 genes using next generation sequencing technology. This new test is intended for in vitro diagnostic use by trained personnel in a professionallaboratory environment with extracted human RNA samples from formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissues.
