Summary Description:

The primary function of the EMR Specialist is to provide direct and indirect support to clinicians and support staff in the delivery of patient care with the use of the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Director of Pharmacy assists & discusses with CMO and has leadership over other pharmacy staff to improve quality of care in the following areas;

Strategy Development and Planning

The chief of pharmacy assesses the ever-changing healthcare environment for emerging trends that will influence the medication management in SKSH. The chief of pharmacy is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation and management of a safe and effective medication management system. The chief of pharmacy provides leadership at the organizational level regarding planning, implementing and maintaining drug information systems that support patient care.

Operation and Management

The chief of pharmacy is responsible for oversight of all pharmaceutical contracting, procurement, receiving, security, inventory control, and distribution including outsourced sterile products, alternate distribution channels utilized during drug shortages and other methods of pharmaceutical waste disposal. The chief of pharmacy manages pharmacy’s financial performance. He or she develops budgets aligned with organizational and departmental objectives and monitors financial performance appropriately, performing financial analysis as needed to ensure accurate, appropriate, and timely recording and classification of actual revenue capture and expenses. The chief of pharmacy collaborates with peers to develop drug-utilization and formulary initiatives that optimize therapeutic outcomes, reduce the risk of drug-related problems, and ensure the use of cost effective pharmacotherapy throughout the hospital. The chief of pharmacy manage internal and external KPI through collaboration with relevant department.

Quality and Patient Safety Improvement

The chief of pharmacy is responsible for ensuring quality outcomes through performance-improvement activities. The chief of pharmacy ensures continued compliance with local regulations related to medications and their management.

Human Resources Management in Pharmacy

The chief of pharmacy is responsible for ensuring that pharmacists participate as the interdisciplinary team members who are responsible for patients’ medication-related outcomes. The chief of pharmacy manages SKSH pharmacy’s workforce efforts. These efforts include determining the appropriate number, type and qualification of staff required to meet patient care needs, satisfy regulatory and accrediting requirements, achieve the organization’s mission and advance pharmacy practice.

The chief of pharmacy demonstrates the personal leadership qualities to operate effectively within the hospital and to advance the profession and practice of pharmacy. The chief of pharmacy has an integral role in supporting the organization’s research and educational missions by overseeing investigational drug services, fostering staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND RELEVANT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Work effectively with SKSH physicians, nursing units, and other administrations/supporting units to ensure timely and effective responses to the hospital’s clinical service scope & operation; 3 Centers and 4 Divisions’ administrative support, and other deadlines or interdepartmental coordination regarding the SKSH service scope by acting as the central contact for administrators to respond to questions and resolve topics. Consensus-making coordination and drawing outcome for clinical service operation topics. Plan and coordinate the hospital’s inpatient bed operation status for the General ward/ICU/VIP, ED, and Operation Theaters, including monitoring of IP BOR results. Make a strategic approach to lead topics coming from authorized governance, Pure Health & SNUH. Forecast clinical volumes for OPD, IP, Admission, Surgery, and ED in relation to the hospital’s annual planning for the Clinical Service area and Budget, and monitor the trend. Provide expert guidance in the development of OPD clinic operation guidelines, quality improvement activities in standard procedures of GP ROTA & On-call duty schedule, amendments of MOCA code policies/SOPs as well as new policy development. Act as primary liaison for creating processes or reaching the outcome between key persons of 3 centers and CMO/DCMO and other support departments in various clinical topics, initiatives, or development. Complete official reports, data analysis, milestones of CMO’s clinical departments or physicians. Prepare CMO’s Directive, Notification and Memo to physicians for his organization staff. Prepare and support CMO’s initiatives and plans. Manage topics for CMO’s organization chart with HR teams, including chart approval status, progress monitoring for recruitment/position change/etc., and their outcomes. Manage department’s KPI validation items, SKSH Clinical Practice Guidelines, and four Committees under department. Supervise the preparations of onboard physicians for clinical privilege, office allocation, physician service scope. Oversee the administration and operations of the department under sub-sections of Clinical Relations Planning, Clinical Support, Clinical Privilege, and CMO’s Office. Evaluate and revises administrative processes, plans, and runs the operations of the Clinical Relations department. Manage the staff performance and mentors them by providing constructive feedback under the total quality management.
