ABOUT SHEIKH KHALIFA SPECIALTY HOSPITAL


Under the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital (SKSH), Ras Al Khaimah, is on course to become a leading medical facility for the Northern Emirates.

Adopting the vision of the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the six-storey, hospital, provides essential world class tertiary care services in the Northern Emirates, with a focus on three Medical Specialties:

  • Oncology
  • Cardiovascular
  • Neuroscience

Unlike other hospitals, SKSH is a tertiary hospital highly specialized for specific fields of medicine with centers of excellence. To provide high-quality service and care in the most efficient manner, SKSH has established a referral system.

SKSH has a 246 bed capacity for the care of inpatients, and a number of outpatient clinics open during the week. SKSH opened seven general wards: three male wards, three female wards, one mixed ward, and a VIP ward. Additional wards include three ICU’s: Cardiac ICU with 10 beds and Medical ICU with 20 beds.

The Operating Theatre has 10 sophisticatedly designed, spacious operating rooms as well as a 49 beds postoperative recovery unit. One room with Magnetic Resonance (MR) allows for sophisticated surgery to be performed as well as aids for special procedures in radiation oncology. Also the Operation Theater has brachytherapy which is equipped with full radiation-shielded wall and control room that can be used as a hybrid suite.

The emergency department provides efficient, prompt and systemic care for the cerebrovascular and heart diseases.

The hospital is currently managed by Seoul National University Hospital.
