Dr. Mohamed Selim Al Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health discussed with Dr. Myung-Whun Sung, CEO of Sheikh Khelifa Specialty Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah (SKSH-RAK) mutual cooperation in the healthcare field, in a meeting at the location of the hospital on 10 May 2015.

The two parties exchanged talks about the medical referral procedures that can be received in SKSH_RAK and those referred by the hospitals of the ministry of health. Al Olama also conveyed the instructions of His Excellency Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Minister of Health, to facilitate and support the role of the hospital to achieve its goals being one of the most important medical and education centers in the region.

Furthermore, Dr. Myung-Whun Sung, CEO of Sheikh Khelifa Specialty Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah (SKSH-RAK) lauded the efforts of the Ministry of Health in protecting and enhancing the health of the society noting that the cooperation of the hospital with the ministry ensures the best healthcare services in the UAE society and supports continuous medical education. He also assured that the hospital is keen to achieve the best medical leading services in the region with the best international standards towards a healthy system that achieves the modern requirements of the future era.

Dr. Sung also added that the hospital includes three excellence centers: oncology, cardiovascular and neuroscience to provide treatment for movement disorders, treatment and surgery of brain tumors and neuromuscular diseases.

The two sides also discussed ways of facilitating the procedures and licenses to attract more medical and technical staff and support the hospital’s role in the fields of training and continuous medical education.

At the end of the visit, the delegation made a tour in the oncology center, radiation therapy, operations theatre, catheter department, ICU and labs. They also listened to a brief by our CEO about the latest medical equipments and machines. The delegation included: Dr. Hussein Al Rand, Assistant Undersecretary for Health Centers and Clinics, Dr. Youssif Al Serkal, Assistant Undersecretary for hospitals.
