The wise leadership of the UAE is well-convinced that man is the cornerstone of development and progress, and worked hard not only to provide a safe and stable living supplies to him — but to create an excellent environment to be a source of pride to him as optimal environment at the global level.

According to this vision, HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE launched a wide range of initiatives in the different Emirates, paralleled with the many and huge projects assumed by the Government of the UAE and local governments in each Emirate out of HH belief of the necessity of concerted efforts, energies and resources to support the process of building and progress in the State according to the approach developed by the founders of the State, led by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. For implementing those initiatives, HH ordered that a huge budget should be allocated to meet urgent needs and to complete the huge and modern projects commensurate with his aspirations to build a modern State at the level of the developed countries in various areas, and to provide the best services for citizens and residents in order to be proud of these great accomplishments.

All these initiatives are dedicated for the service infrastructure and to provide the requirements needed felt by its leadership through its various committees and corpses, as well as through field visits made by senior officials, headed by His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces whose visits and meetings with citizens, in addition to his standing directives have great impact on the development and dissemination of these projects in different regions of the country.

To ensure the realization of the aspired successes out of the launch of these initiatives, a Higher Committee was set up and affiliated to the Ministry of Presidential Affairs to be under the direct supervision and guidance of HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, to follow up and implement the initiatives and choose the best designs and the best technical practices that serve the ultimate goal aspired by the launch of these initiatives.

The Higher Committee, under the chairmanship of His Excellency Ahmed Juma Al Zaabi, Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs, used to make regular tours to identify the needs of citizens and their remarks, and for conducting studies to determine vital projects and determine the priorities for their implementation through coordination with the relevant ministries and the concerned authorities in the local governments in the Emirates. The Supreme Committee also determines the specifications of each project in coordination with the Ministry of Public Works, and appoints the specialized engineering expertise to come up with better designs and specifications for these projects.
